石海生上山搭救秀秀的时候被绑匪打伤肋骨，虽然身体受了重伤，石海生却在秀秀面前扮出一副若无其事的模样，直到秀秀回到镇上，石海生才回到家中养伤。石海生的阿婆非常心疼石海生，数落石海生为了他人不顾自己的性命安危。阿昌得知石海生受伤，赶紧来到石家探视，石海生察觉到了阿昌的一根手指包着黑布，心中意识到了阿昌手指被砍断，于是询问阿昌遇到了什么事情。阿昌并不打算将受伤的原因说出来，吞吞吐吐闪烁其词，不过在石海生的苦苦盘问下，阿昌才透露是师傅砍断了他的手指，石海生见阿昌被师傅伤害，心中生起一丝怒气，提醒阿昌以后不要再跟师傅，师傅已经误入邪道走上不归路，阿昌再要跟着师傅一样也会万劫不复。阿昌非常赞同石海生的观点，不过一想到自己无一技之长，阿昌一脸无奈看着石海生，非常担心以后离开师傅会法生存。 高启文去世之后，高母神思变得恍惚，每天都在高家四处寻找儿子高启文，一天高母来到客厅对着空气说话，由于情绪变得激动，高母在客厅大喊大叫，高家人听到高母的叫声赶紧冲出来查看情况。 高晓彤非常担心母亲的情况，劝说母亲接受高启文去世的事实，高母没有听从高晓彤的劝告，拿起一把剪刀打算自杀，高晓彤见母亲要自杀，心中一紧赶紧上前劝阻，高母受到阻拦胡乱挥动剪刀，直到剪刀扎破了高晓彤的手臂，高母才恢复了理智。秀秀来石家探望石海生，石海生躺在床上一副拘束不安的模样，秀秀叮嘱石海生好好养伤，说完话起身离开了石家。高父让刘家齐透露老家的地址，刘家齐对高父的行为莫名其妙，直到高父透露要去老家看望刘母，刘家齐才回过神来与高晓彤对视一眼，高晓彤已经知道刘家齐的底细，心中非常担心父母去到刘家齐的老家查到一些真相。刘家齐与高晓彤来到桥上商议如何阻止二老去老家，高晓彤一直对刘家齐在老家还有妻子耿耿于怀，为了夺取秀秀在刘家的资格，高晓彤要求刘家齐带走秀秀以后生下的孩子，不管是男是女都要带回到高家，刘家齐见高晓彤执意如此，只得点头同意，高晓彤见刘家齐肯听她的话，心中窃喜回到家中，劝说父母过一段时间再去刘家齐的老家。在高晓彤的劝说，高父高母决定暂时不去刘家齐的老家。石海生伤势刚愈下床替阿婆做事，阿婆非常关心石海生，提醒石海生好好休息，石海生想起了秀秀，迫不及待向阿婆打探秀秀的情况。
