DS Phil Hunter is desperate to find his daughter Madison, who has been abducted by Dennis Weaver. DCI Jack Meadows orders him not to get involved in the investigation, and assigns DS Samantha Nixon to keep an eye on Hunter. Hunter and Nixon investigate when a kilo of cocaine is found in a car after a chase with police, and find the driver Sonny Jonson at the hospital. PC Yvonne Hemmingway arrests a 17-year old girl, Shirley Moss, on shoplifiting charges and forms a bond with the girl when Shirley tells her she's pregnant. Hemmingway convinces the shopkeeper to drop the charges, and when the father of Shirley's child turns out to be big-time drug dealer Rifkin, Hunter and Nixon organise an SO19 raid on Rifkin's flat, but with drug courier Sonny and Shirley both in police custody, Rifkin clearly has his bases covered. PC Gary Best is surprised when the SO19 sergeant at the raid turns out to be PC Lance Powell's partner, Mark Rollins. Yvonne offers Shirley a place to stay at her flat, but
