高校生レストランもようやく軌道に乗ってきたある日、新吾（松岡昌宏）が厨房とホールのスタッフを入れ換えると言い出した。レストランはあくまでも部活動であり、教育の一貫として、生徒たちに平等に機会を与えるためだった。しかしそれぞれの持ち場にやっと慣れてきていた生徒たちは戸惑いを隠せない。地元農家に影響力のある農業連盟会長の星野（西村雅彦）も「自分の娘が厨房からはずされた」と岸野（伊藤英明）に詰め寄る。岸野は「レストランは学校では学べないことを体験する場」と説明するが星野は聞き入れず、岸野が計画している野菜即売所への協力を渋ってくる。翌日、新しい配置での練習がスタートした。しかし真衣（川島海荷）の姿がない。人一倍、熱心にレストランに取り組んでいた真衣が欠席するとは……。やはり厨房をはずされたことがショックだったのだろうか？ さらに生徒たちは慣れない作業に戸惑い、調理にも配膳にも余計に時間がかかってしまう。こんなことで週末の開店に間に合わせることはできるのか!?放課後、真衣は岸野に誰にも相談できなかった悩みを打ち明ける。そして、岸野は「その思いを新吾にぶつけてみろ」と真衣を励ます。いっぽう新吾は岸野から、真衣が3年前に母親を亡くし、以来父親の食事を作っていることを聞く。それを聞いた新吾はあることに思い至り、厨房に入る。そしてレストラン営業日、配置換えの試みは成功するのか？さらに生徒へ、真衣へ、新吾の想いは通じるのか？
