Akane soll beim Theater-Wettbewerb der Schulen die Julia spielen. Die Anwärter für die Rolle des Romeo sind Kuno, Happosai und Ranma-kun. Ranma-kun setzt sich durch, weil er der irrigen Meinung ist, dass der Sieger eine Reise nach China gewinnt. Nach verschiedenen Kämpfen mit seinen Konkurrenten, begegnet Ranma-kun das größte Problem. Er muss natürlich als Romeo die Julia küssen! Ranma bringt es nicht über sich, Akane zu küssen, so vor allen Leuten … Soun verzweifelt fast an seinem schüchternen Schwiegersohn in spe. Erst als Akane ihn liebevoll dazu auffordert, tut er es. Vorher hat ihm Akane aber noch ein Pflaster über den Mund geklebt. Ranma fühlt sich total verladen und ist sauer! Als er dann zuhause auch noch erfährt, dass die Reise nach China ein Missverständnis war, und mit China ein Schauspieler aus Hongkong gemeint war, fällt er schlicht in Ohnmacht!
