天宝成功将中毒昏迷的胤禛带回贝勒府，经此大难后，两人之间的友谊亦因此加深。慕雪因吃下了「七色菇」煮成的药而药到病除回复健康，但是慕雪却误会了「七色菇」是由胤禩所赠，更因此对胤禩更为倾心。 天宝回宫后为了报答胤禛的救命之恩，便亲自为胤禛的母亲德妃制作御膳，令德妃再不用为膳食的问题而要贿赂鹤亭。 胤禛出手　救助天宝 鹤亭知道天宝断自己财路后大怒，便在天宝所煮的菜中做手脚令德妃食物中毒。为了德妃食物中毒一事，德胜特意到御茶膳房向天宝追究责任，天宝心知自己被人陷害，但为了不让其他人因自己与鹤亭的恩怨而受罚，便毅然决定独自承担所有罪名。 胤禛刚办好公事回宫，便得知天宝因为犯事而被重打五十大板，胤禛登时大怒并且决定追究责任。终查出是御茶膳房的两名小厨被鹤亭强迫在天宝的菜式中做手脚。 为助天宝　答应约会 胤禛本想处罚该两名小厨但却被天宝阻止，两名小厨因此相当感激天宝，自此与天宝站在同一阵线。 若碧派下人到宫中邀请小鱼外出约会，小鱼为了撮合天宝和若碧，便带天宝一同出席。天宝和若碧因为均对食物的知识都相当渊博，故此两人谈得相当投契。天宝等人却遇到有满族子弟骚扰，原来他们因不满康熙施政而在京城闹事。幸好最后小鱼出手相助，才能令若碧等人成功逃走。 城中混乱　康熙烦恼 满族子弟在城中捣乱一事传到康熙耳中，故此康熙便派遣胤禩与一众满族子弟谈判。但想不到满族子弟竟然完全不将胤禩放在眼内，并安排人马穿着丧服向胤禩施压，令胤禩无功而还，康熙知道胤禩失败后龙颜大怒。 看见皇上心情恶劣，鹤亭为了避重就轻，决定将康熙的御膳交给天宝负责，而天宝及小鱼合力烹调的御膳甚得康熙喜爱，两人也因此受到礼遇。 胤禛眼见满族子弟目中无人，为了完成满汉归心的大业，胤禛向康熙提议施行新政，以强硬手段对付一众满族子弟，康熙听后便将此任务交给胤禛。 铁腕镇暴　上阵决斗 当胤禛的新政策推出后，却即时惹起满族子弟不满，胤禩也担心胤禛此举会引起京城混乱，但原来此事早已在康熙的掌握之中，指示胤禛施行新政的目的，只为将胤禛当成满汉政治的牺牲品。 满族子弟在京城生事并打算冲击紫禁城，胤禛闻言后便与冯鹰等手下阻止满族子弟闹事，而胤禛为了平息事件更提出与满族子弟的首领决斗。… ...
