「我原本以为，台湾的山只有两种颜色，一种是白雪的白，一种是常年的绿，现在出现第三种，是满山遍野、残破的土黄色，像是大地的伤口…」──摘自齐柏林著《我的心，我的眼，看见台湾》火车站长家和(陈博正 饰)在上班途中，再度遇见当年逃家的程诺(张栋樑 饰)。家和就像棵大树，他自制印有齐柏林导演空拍照的明信片，多年来与程诺书信往返，於是在程诺成长的记忆下，家和是他唯一的倚靠。「你虽然不是我亲生的，却跑来当我的女儿，命中注定我们就是父女。」把家和视为大树的，是另一个缘分更深的孩子－天晴(连俞涵 饰)。天晴小时候被母亲遗弃，无法袖手旁观的家和，只好用「一千个晚安」的传说来安抚，进而收养她。或许是非亲生的阴霾，天晴总是用报恩的委屈心态过生活，这让家和担忧不已，家和希望在天晴享受父爱宠溺的同时，能更随性的活出自我。家和的亲生女儿天雨(姚爱寗 饰)则是个天不怕、地不怕的钢琴天才美少女，总是走反拍的个性，让指导教授(王治平 饰)爱之深、责之切；但，即便是天雨从小就心仪的吴柏森(李宗霖 饰)也拿她莫可奈何。家和终於要退休了！他认真的帮自己规划了一段旅程，而这段旅程，其实也是每位退休族，在面临退休与准备「再出发」之前，与过去和解的旅程。程诺辗转透过天晴得知家和的计画，於是开心地搭上同班列车，只是天有不测风云，家和的生命列车，竟就此驶向终点站，这群年轻人心中的大树即将倒塌，如同大地的伤口，开始撕裂每个人的心…
