18年来致力于研究抗癌特效药的大学医院内科医生铃木秀树（三上博史饰），无意间发现了可以治愈所有癌症的药物，并且把这药物命名为潘朵拉。因为没有人相信，所以医生无法进一步的进行人体实验。刚好在这时候一名得了肝癌末期的少女（谷村美月饰）患者出现。医生和少女商量，希望少女能答应让他进行人体实验，也可以因此将他的并治愈。少女答应了。而在这时，想要夺取研究成果的另一名外科女医师（小西真奈美饰）也插一脚要协助，而就在少女的病奇迹似的治愈后，才发现，原来少女可能犯下刑事杀人案。 抗癌药“潘朵拉”成为医院和政府官员的争夺对象，医师在政府的协助下完成了新药的开发，也引来了一连串权力的斗争，而少女所犯下的杀人案，真正的凶手竟是在权力斗争中的政府官员。最后，少女死了，官员也死了，医生自己也因为少女的死而失去意志，新药也因为被医师藏起来大家找不到，所以事件也因此不了了之。 医生在自己的身体里注入了自己研发的新药，希望在另一个适当的时机在发表出来。在这次事件的所有人也因为这一连串的事故，体验到了某些事情，省思后成长，继续生活下去
