　　决战正在太空中激烈的进行。随着战斗逐步升级，机器人统治者发现旗舰已不堪重负，于是下令抛弃所有伤员和百姓，并给克隆人战士注射了止痛血清以使军队能战斗更久，这种残忍手段给了统治者最后的优势。 　　废墟里，诺娃坚持要逮捕缪西卡。为维护缪西卡，戴纳和诺娃爆发了激烈争论。但鲍威尔和戴纳的话最终打动了诺娃，诺娃改变了初衷。 　　为在外围狙击敌人，爱默森舰队不得不疲劳应战，在泰洛人的猛烈攻势下渐渐坚持不住。但他的支援请求却遭到伦纳德司令的拒绝。这时泰洛人的登陆艇已强行登陆地球，伦纳德也收到了机器人统治者的最后通谍，要求所有人类在38小时内全部撤离地球，否则就摧毁地球。伦纳德把最后期限拖延到了48小时，同时下令全军紧急集结，准备决一死战。 　　三星旗舰力战不敌，玛丽和布朗救出了爱默森将军，但在撤退过程中他们不幸被俘。与此同时，机器人统治者和废墟上的佐尔等人取得了联系。他们以被俘的爱默森将军和玛丽、布朗为条件，要挟缪西卡和佐尔回到自己的阵营。佐尔答应了交换条件，他和戴纳决定了一个冒险计划。 　　15小队带着缪西卡进入泰洛母舰，如期救出了被俘者，但统治者抢先一步截走了缪西卡。为救缪西卡，爱默森中弹身亡。临死前，他向年轻人们表达了希望将来不同种族能和平共处的心愿。悲伤的战士们忽然发现佐尔不见了。此时，再次登上红色机甲的佐尔正循着他记忆中的路线独自杀向旗舰深处，复仇的怒火在他的胸中升腾。
